We start our morning with a breakfast served by our bed and breakfast host. They had a building with a kitchen and dining room on the property. They had the necessary breakfast options but they also had French toast with homemade syrup with local berries. It was my Mom’s birthday and her favorite breakfast is French toast so it was perfect!

After breakfast we made out way into Glacier Park. Our first stop was at the visitor’s center where we learned that snow falls had blocked half of the highway across the park. Luckily they had plowed up to Logan pass so we could drive up that far.

The road leading through the park is called “Going-To-The-Sun Road”. It is a breath taking drive with many points to pull over and take in the sights. It is also a narrow road with some tight turns, so make sure your driver doesn’t have a bad case of rubber neck.

We made it up to Logan Pass and there is a 1.5 mile hike there that takes you to an overlook of Hidden Lake. It is a popular hike that is well maintained. There were some entitled hikers that thought they could go off trail at any point they wished and were quickly corrected. We got our view of Hidden Lake and made our way back down to the visitor center at Logan Pass.

There was a lot of information about the park in the visitor center including what wild flowers grew there and at what time of year they were in season. They also had a gift shop. I love looking around a gift shop and this one was top notch. After making a couple of purchases we made our way back down the mountain.
After that we made our way around to Two Medicine. It was a peaceful lake front with crystal clear water. There were a couple of small nature trials that offer a beautiful way to walk in nature.

After that we wound down at our cabin and played cards with what was left of the day.

We tried different huckleberry flavored items that we bought that day and wound down. We had more adventuring the next day including West Glacier and Canada.
