Bergjord Boarding

This one comes from our trip to Winnipeg. We got so incredibly lucky with our AirBnB location. This insane display was less than a block away from where we stayed. We stocked up every morning and had goodies for when we started looking for late night snacks.

This a view from the highest spot at Craters of the Moon Monument in Idaho. We were driving and just saw this sign on the side of the road and we were so intrigued by the name we had to swing by. It gave us a chance to stretch our legs and grab some great views!

Scandinavians and their hot dogs! Iceland still has my vote for best hotdogs, but we just happened upon this tiny dog shack while exploring Bergen. There was a tiny bird that was very determined to share our meal but other than that these dogs went down so smooth. A big mood boost and just the energy we needed to go and find our AirBnB.

San Francisco! I got a hand-me-down Jerry Rice jersey form my cousin when I was in middle school and have liked the 49ers ever since. We had been walking ALL day and hit a motivation wall. We were going to look for a coffee place but dipped into this dive bar instead. There was a CD changer for a radio with some great big band jazz albums, and the drinks went down incredibly well. This was a highlight of the entire trip and it was truly an “in the moment” decision.

And to wrap it all up! Torchy’s Tacos in Austin, Tx. We just happened to park in this empty parking lot in the morning and when we got back from walking around the lot was full and it was a taco place. Turns out Torchy’s is a popular chain, but it was my introduction to tacos in Austin and you can tell by my face, they were the real deal.

BONUS:

The stop that never was. We drove down to Texas a couple of years back and we kept on seeing signs for Buc-ee’s “Worlds Largest Gas Station”. I ended up getting annoyed with how frequently we saw these dang signs. We didn’t stop there out of spite and I regret it to this day. I can’t tell you how bad I want a good Buc-ee’s run. Biscuit, candied pecans, and all the souvenirs you could imagine? We will meet some day.
