Samie and I decided to take our journey on country roads and through small towns. The route through Minneapolis is slightly quicker and is overall more convenient, but there is a specific kind of peace you feel driving on a lonely two lane highway.

The majority of our first day was driving. We had a relaxing evening cooking ourselves a simple dinner and watching HGTV.

We start our first full day by heading into town and finding coffee. We only had a few things on the agenda today and we looked forward to seeing what the day threw at us after that.
When Sam had visited the dells before she went to this place called Wizard Quest. It is an interactive adventure throughout an entire building that is themed around a fantasy world.

We got there right when they opened and got first dibs at the place. You work as a team to solve multiple riddles on a tablet they give you as you run around magical forests and lava caverns. We ended up being amazing at this and almost got a perfect run until we crumbled at the end when we couldn’t locate a very hidden secret staff.

We still felt awesome about our effort and helped ourselves to a photo op on the throne of champions.
Right after that we walked around and quickly found a popcorn vendor where we tried dill pickle popcorn for the first time and fell in love.
Our next destination was a place I happened upon while doing research on eating establishments. We grabbed lunch at Grateful Shed. It is a large open building filled with stationary food trucks. The idea is so unique and fun but the ambience is what really brings this place to the next level.

There was also many different seating options including VW Bus look-alikes that you can eat in. This was definitely the more fun option and we gravitated to it.

Our noses lead us to the taco truck and we were not disappointed. Sam and I both got three tacos and shared an order of chips and guacamole. We chased that down with Jarritos and were in taco bliss.

After a very fun lunch we walked around town looking at all the different shops, candy stores, and cheese markets. Wisconsin Dells has a jam packed main drag with unlimited adventures within walking distance.
On the next part we get to test our skills at mini golf and test our tolerance for tasty wine.
